Dear Colleague

The purpose of this annoucement is to bring you up to date with the arrangements made thus far for the 2014 New Zealand Tourism and Hospitality Research Conference.

The draft conference programme is therefore attached to this link. Program click here.

We are looking for people to act as Chairs for the various sessions, so if there is a series of papers in which you may be interested, or you simply wish to help in this respect, please let me know.

In terms of preparing PPT files or equivalent - you are requested to speak for about 20 minutes leaving 10 minutes for discussion and questions.

It would also help if you could prepare a short introduction about yourself that you can forward to us and which we can then pass to the session chairs

Please accept my apologies if you receive this email more than once, but this would be due to your name being associated with more than one paper. I am also aware that the order of authors on the papers is not wholly correct, but we will be dealing with this over the next week or so.

PROCEEDINGS

The next stage is that early next week you will receive an email indicating the rubric for the final full papers. Basically we will be having two classifications of papers, namely:

a) Abstracts only

b) Full papers

Only full papers will be considered for awards and for possible journal inclusion for the different journals associated with the conference.

Can you please note that the abstracts and papers will be provided to you at the conference on either a USB or a CD.

COPYRIGHT

Authors will retain full copyright to their work and the conference organisers are making no claim on the copyright.  It is for this reason that we are not placing the papers and abstracts on the internet.

As colleagues will know, increasingly journals are using ithenticate to ensure that papers submitted to them are not in the public domain. If papers are found to be already on the net many editors will not accept them for publication on the grounds that they exist in the public domain and thus the publishers are not able to claim copyright.  I am not judging this – just simply making a statement. Given this I and the other conference organisers have no wish to place you in jeopardy of not having your paper published at some future time.

DATE FOR SUBMISSION OF FINAL FULL PAPER

Is November 1st 2014.

Finally, than you so much for your support and we look forward to hosting you, and hope that we will be blessed with good weather.
